Deliverance Ministry

The Doctrinal Commission of the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services(ICCRS),based in Vatican has published a book on Deliverance Ministry offering theological and pastoral insights on the safe and practical running of the ministry. Contributors include Bishop Joseph Grech, Dr.Mary Healy and Fr.Peter Hocken in consulation with many theologians and pastoral leaders worldwide. There are a lot of confusions and myths when it comes to devil and his presence in todays world. Both Scripture and Catholic teaching ground deliverance and healing ministry as something we are called to do as disciples of Jesus. I have experienced freedom and deliverance personally in my life from bondages and sin habits andI have seen many people being set free through the ministry and prayers of deliverance. People confuse deliverance with Exorcism, which is a sacramental of the Church to free a person from Satanic possession. It can only be facilitated by the Bishop or the Priest appointed by the him, whereas Deliverance or sometimes called as minor exorcism is a prayer of command done by the lay faithful in the name of Jesus to free a person from demonic influence. Unbound Ministry USA, a Catholic Ministry founded by Neal Lozano is an example of how a trained lay faithful can carry out a deliverance or freedom session for those experiencing lesser forms of demonic influence. Deliverance Ministry plays a big role in evangelization in setting the captives free, exposing the dark spots that hinder communion with God and others, bringing them back to Christ’s love.

"I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy;nothing will harm you" Luke 10:19

"And these signs will accompany those who believe,in my name they will drive out demons.." Mark 16:17
